Pho is a traditional Vietnamese soup made with rice noodles and chicken, or beef, squid, vegetables, meatballs, and seafood. Most people mispronounce Pho as “Foe.” The correct way to say it is, “Fuh.” Like saying Fu-ck you, but without the “ck” and the “you.”
Pho Da Lat
Cozy ambiance with a large menu. Everything from Pho to noodle and rice dishes. They also serve Thai iced tea (with whipped cream, unless you decline) and some great spring rolls for appetizers. A great place for a cozy and casual date.
Cyclo Vietnamese Cuisine
A small and quaint restaurant with award after award, hanging on the walls. There is usually a line of people outside her door (owner also serves) waiting to be seated. Her menu is small, but good. It’s also a BYOB restaurant, so bring a bottle of wine and lots of friends.
Saigon Pho
Cheap prices and fast service. This is a great place to stop on a lunch break. The Thai iced tea is better here than at most places, too. The only thing I don’t like about this place is that it’s chicken poker. There are days where my Pho is packed with lots of protein and other days not so much.

nice finds. i love the twists on ‘pho’ in the restaurant names. more original than pho 88, pho 99 (although pho 99 on wilshire & westgate rocks) here in los angeles. i love a little hoisin along with the rooster in my soup too. too good, i’m off to get a fix!
Perfect hangovers cure. You can’t get a decent bowl in NYC compared to what’s on the west coast. btw, I don’t know it for anything but Rooster Sauce…
I want some pho..! looks tastey!
@Laughing-No problem
If you live in AZ…it’s raining again, so today will be the perfect day for you to get some Pho!
You have to be the only person I’ve ever seen refer to it as “Rooster Sauce”. Thanks for the addresses and the pictures. It’s always intimidating to walk into a new place and want to try something adventurous, but when the servers aren’t exactly confident in what they are trying to explain it makes a person hesitant to order. I appreciate the suggested dishes and locations.
